Lois Mae Johnson

Lois Mae (Sickler) Johnson, of Bradley, beloved wife of Everett Johnson went to rest with Jesus on September 1, 2026. She left this world as she lived in this world, with Everett by her side. Lois was born on April 24, 1938 to Harold and Florence (McPeak) Sickler, in Hayward, WI. She had one sister, Ione Carroll, deceased. Sharing over 70 years of wedded bliss, Everett and Lois were married on October 15, 1955 in Superior, WI. Everett survives. They soon travelled overseas to Germany, where Everett was stationed with the Army. While stationed there in 1957, Lois brought their firstborn, a son, Dale Everett in to the world. Everett and Lois moved to the Kankakee area and by 1959, they welcomed their daughter, Jewel Ann. They both preceded her in death. Lois leaves behind four grandchildren Michelle (Kevin) Windish, Scott (Emily) Papineau, Megan (Cameron) Butler, and Jill (Ben) Loewe. She adored and was adored by her great grandchildren, Alexia, Isabelle, Maxwell, Tyson, Jewel, Elliana, CJ, Paxton, Jayliana, Jelina, Elijah, Ezekiel, and Brooklyn. Spending time with them was her favorite pastime. Baking, hosting, and caring for others were just a few of her gifts. Lois was known for baking something delicious for any gathering she was invited to, as well as to spoil her husband and family. Cookies, sweet breads, and cakes were just a few of her prized specialties. She was an expert in crochet and made beautiful keepsakes for many of her loved ones, as well as making and giving many prayer shawls to those in her community. Lois enjoyed being involved in her church. Serving others and honoring God were so important to her. Lois was a hard worker and dedicated to being the best she could be. Whether selling shoes, caring for a dear friend, or cleaning homes she did everything with joy and intention. Everyone who knew Lois loved Lois. While she had an amazing sense of humor and comedic timing, she had an even more loving and kind heart. She had a special way of making people feel loved, important, and cared for. Her love for Jesus and consideration for others is a beautiful legacy she leaves behind. She will be greatly missed. A visitation and memorial service will be held September 12, 2026 at Manteno United Methodist Church (255 W. Second St. Manteno Il.) The visitation will be from 10 am to 12 pm. The memorial service will immediately follow.
