Vivian Arlene Nixon-Bonser

September 1, 1921 - September 17, 2018

Vivian Arlene Nixon-Bonser, 97, passed away Monday (Sept. 17, 2018) at Miller Healthcare Center in Kankakee. She was born Sept. 1, 1921, in Grant Park, the daughter of Clarence and Irene Molthan Heusing. Vivian worked for Hilsenhoff Pharmacy and Shapiro Developmental Center. She was a member of Manteno United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was in charge of setup for Communion services. She also was active with PTA and 4-H organizations. Surviving are a son, David and Barbara Nixon, of Kankakee; daughters, Pamela and Edward Kleitsch, of North Little Rock, Ark., and Jody Williams, of Manteno; sister, Joann Revis, of Palo Alto, Calif., and grandchildren, Christine and Ron Oestreich, Anne and Mohammad Hammoudeh, Katherine and Kent Thompson, Lindsay Schultz and Travis Williams; great-grandchildren, Jack, Nathan, Ellin, Delanie, Lila, Lillianne, Noah, Adam, Samuel and Charles; along with many nieces and nephews and loving friends from her church. Preceding her in death were her first husband, Emerson Nixon; second husband, Robert Bonser; an infant son; brother, Kenneth Heusing; sisters, Elizabeth Long and Beverly Marcotte; and son-in-law, Dennis Williams. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20 at Brown-Jensen Funeral Home, Manteno. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at Manteno United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Joy Schlesselman and the Rev. Nancy Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Manteno. Memorials may be made to Manteno United Methodist Church.
