Laura Weber, 90, of Manteno, passed away Saturday (March 15, 2014) at Presence Our Lady of Victory in Bourbonnais. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the Brown Funeral Home in Manteno. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Manteno. Pastor Al Abbott will officiate. Burial will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens, Aroma Township. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley or to the First Presbyterian Church in Manteno, where she was a member. She was born Oct. 7, 1923, in St. Anne, the daughter of Frank and Bessie Sutton Wingerter. Her husband, John H. Weber, whom she married June 21, 1941, in Crown Point, Ind., passed away Sept. 30, 1997. Laura was very active at the First Presbyterian Church in Manteno. Besides being a loving full-time homemaker for her children and grandchildren, Laura spent many years working at Krugers Grocery Store and Hilsenhof's Drug Store in Manteno. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, John E. and Charlene Weber, of Diablo, Calif., Jeffery L. and Mary Weber, of Manteno; one daughter, Debby Weber, of Northfield; grandchildren, Rick and Jennifer Gusman, Gregory Weber, Paul Weber, Eric and Trisha Weber, Derrick and Tracy Weber, Elizabeth and Jason Hill, and Stephanie Weber; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Hazel Fiacco, Irene LaVelle and Carol Turner; and two brothers, Harold Wingerter and Robert Wingerter.
