Genevieve Jean Jaros

Genevieve Jean Jaros, 94, of Manteno, was called home to Heaven on Friday (April 10, 2015) from Presence St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee. She was born March 19, 1921, in Conrath, Wis., the daughter of Chester and Anna Kosieroski Golat. Genevieve married Walter Jaros on Aug. 10, 1940. Mrs. Jaros was a cook at various Manteno resaurants. She gave communion at the Illinois Veterans Home in Manteno, volunteered for Meals on Wheels, Manteno TV station and was an election judge. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manteno, and enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles and spending time with family and friends. Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Walter and Christel Jaros, of Steger, Larry and Sue Jaros, of Wisconsin; daugthers and son-in-law, Patricia Majka, of Beecher, Cathy and Mike Novak, of Wisconsin; brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Barb Golat, of Wisconsin; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband; and eight brothers and sisters. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Brown Funeral Home in Manteno, with the Rev. Al Heidecke officiating. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manteno. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Manteno. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
