Edward J. Jendreg

Edward J. Jendreg Jr., lovingly known as “Eddie,” passed away surrounded by the love of his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, godfather, uncle, and loyal friend whose kindness, humor, and strength touched the lives of everyone who knew him. Eddie was the beloved husband and best friend of the late Regina Jendreg. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, and unwavering support for one another. He was a proud and loving father to Samantha (Ryan) Layman and John W. (Crystal) McTighe. Nothing brought Eddie greater joy than spending time with his family and watching them grow. Known affectionately as “Papa,” Eddie deeply cherished his grandchildren: Taylor, Hailey, Ava, Landon, and Brayden. He treasured every moment shared with them and leaves behind countless memories filled with laughter, guidance, and unconditional love. Edward was the loving son of the late Edward and Lorraine Jendreg, and the dear brother of Mark Jendreg and Lori Conti (Keith Conrad). A special uncle to Robert Willison, Richard Willison, Brandon Conti, Nicolette Jendreg, Antoinette Jendreg, Amber Conrad, Megan Conrad, and Ashley Tongate, always offering support, encouragement, and love to his extended family. He was a proud godfather to Robert Willison, Miranda Linford, and Edward Willison. In addition to his devotion to family, Eddie honorably served his country in the United States Army. His military service reflected the same courage, loyalty, and dedication that defined the way he lived his life every day. He carried deep pride in serving his nation and remained respected and admired by all who knew him. Though he is no longer with us in person, Eddie’s legacy of love, strength, family, and friendship will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. In honor of his love for music and belief in its importance in American history, family and friends are invited to wear their favorite band t-shirts in remembrance. “Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day.” A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 1:00–5:00 PM at Beggar’s Pizza, 15600 S Cicero Ave, Oak Forest, IL 60452.
